I kept seeing a missing part of the conversation.

I’m Dr. Sonya Reddy, an NYU-trained dentist and founder of OraSpan.

For more than fifteen years in clinical practice, I listened to people describe their sleep, their breathing, and how they felt every day. At the same time, I was looking at their gums, teeth, and oral structure. I became increasingly interested in how those conversations could inform each other.

From finance to dentistry to building what comes next.

My career has included Morgan Stanley, Accenture, and AIG, followed by dental training at NYU and building and exiting dental practices. Those experiences shaped how I approach a problem: pay attention to the details, look for what is missing, and build a way to bring the right people into the conversation.

A professional question became personal.

My own family’s health journeys deepened this commitment. As a daughter and a mother, I know how much it matters to have someone listen carefully, look beyond a single finding, and help connect the pieces.

That experience reinforced a question I bring to my work: are we considering structure, function, and the patterns someone repeats every day together?

What I’m building now.

Through OraSpan, my writing, and speaking, I work to make oral health a more visible part of the broader wellness conversation. I advocate for earlier attention to concerns, clear limits around what an observation can tell us, and collaboration across dental and medical care.
